After exiting Accademia we need to find a taxi to get back to our hotel.  After getting lost-some misdirection-we finally end up at the Piazza della Santissima Annunziata.  This square is named after the church of Annunziata here in the square.  Located in this square is also the bronze equestrian statue of Ferdinando I and 2 fountains (Mannerist style which exaggerates qualities of balance, proportion, ideal beauty) with fantastical figures done by Tacca.   One of the buildings around the square is Ospedale degli Innocenti designed by Brunelleschi-originally a children's orphanage.  Today the building serves as a base of operations for the UNICEF Innocenti Research Centre.  Other buildings of note in the square-originally was the Loggia da Sangallo the Elder, built for the mendicant order, the Service di Maria(certain Roman Catholic religious orders that have a lifestyle of poverty, traveling, and living in urban areas for purposes of preaching especially to the poor) but is now a hotel.  And the Basilica della Santissima Annunziata.  After a short wait a taxi arrives and we return to our hotel.

Fuoco Matto.  We wanted a place for pizza that was walking distance from our hotel.  It's been a long day and we just want an easy bite for dinner.  With directions from reception we walk to this restaurant in under 10 minutes.  Drinks-water, house wine, beer.  Margherita pizza to share.  It was divided and brought out on 2 plates.  The crust was good but the middle part of the pizza was limp-almost soggy with no substance.  Not the best pizza we've had but we're hungry so we finish it.  Dessert-think it was a kind of tiramisu.   Complimentary shots-limoncello?  Cost 28€/$30.10.
